Faith, Hope, love and BEER?
We know what you're thinking, "Those four words DO NOT go together!" You are right. They usually don't, but they should! We at Pub Theology learn to live our life by following Jesus. And the awesome thing about Jesus is that he came from heaven to earth and hung out in regular places with regular people just like us. We think that Jesus knew that for people to experience his love and begin a friendship with him, it might happen most naturally at a wedding, or a party having a glass of wine, or maybe even a beer.
Here is one of our favorite verses from the Scriptures and a great ivitation from Jesus.
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I'll show you how to take a real rest." -Jesus (the Message)
We believe those words. We want to help create an environment with you that makes those who have left a faith community or church, those who have have never been involved in church, the spiritual interested, the spiritually burned out, and the tired feel as if they have a place to come, rest, enjoy great art and great people, be encouraged, and have a good time. God is not some “far off being” unconcerned with the human condition but a compassionate and loving Father who wants us to join him in his work.
This doesn't mean you have to have your world perfect or never mess up- as we all know, no one is perfect. What it does require is that we admit what we are: a group of people who don't always make the best of choices, talk how we should, or treat others how we wish we did... but we know that there is a better way. The way of faith, hope, and love.
